Karnataka Boosts Affordable Housing and Premium Plots Amid Industrial Surge

karnataka boosts affordable housing premium plots

Bengaluru’s real estate sector gains strong momentum as the state government actively supports industrial expansion and addresses diverse housing demands.

Karnataka Housing Board Launches 593-Acre Project Near Foxconn Hub

The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) has notified the acquisition of 593 acres near Devanahalli, directly adjacent to the Foxconn iPhone manufacturing facility.

This ambitious project will deliver affordable housing units and residential plots, mainly targeting economically weaker sections and the expanding workforce tied to nearby industries, including the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR).

The current 593-acre phase refines earlier proposals that envisioned up to 772 acres across villages such as Vishwanathapura, Vajarahalli, Beerasandra, Shyanappanahalli, and Managondanahalli under a 50-50 land-sharing arrangement with affected landowners.

KHB will prioritize essential infrastructure—roads, water supply, and sanitation—to ensure sustainable development across this fast-growing northern corridor of Bengaluru.

BDA Opens E-Auctions for Premium Residential Sites

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has launched e-auctions for residential sites in several prime and well-developed layouts.

The current offering covers plots in high-demand areas including Banashankari, Arkavathy Layout, and Sir M.V. Layout. Interested bidders can register until February 13.

The auctions especially appeal to buyers seeking premium locations, with special provisions allowing adjacent or combined bidding for larger plots ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 square feet.

These two major initiatives clearly demonstrate the Karnataka government’s strategy: it actively bridges the housing gap for industrial workforces while simultaneously opening transparent opportunities for premium residential ownership in both core and peripheral zones of the city.

Prospective buyers and investors should visit the official Karnataka Housing Board and Bangalore Development Authority websites for the latest notifications, eligibility details, and participation guidelines.
